The Towards Independence Programme
The Towards Independence Programme provides a framework of activities through which personal, social and independence skills can be developed and accredited for those with learning difficulties. It is primarily aimed at Post-16 students but can be undertaken from age 14 onwards.
Towards Independence modules
Towards Independence offers formal recognition for small steps of achievement towards a larger goal. Modules can be used separately and accumulated to build a record of personal achievement.
To achieve the animal care with stable management module, the candidate must complete 6 sections based on horse care and stable management skills. He/she will be asked to say; show; choose and make things. Evidence is collected through talking, signing or using a scribe, and presented via pictures/photographs or digital media.
