Volunteers are the life blood of Larkrise Farm and necessary to achieving our aims.
We really appreciate all the help that they provide. They help us and enjoy themselves at the same time.
Volunteers are required to oversee small groups of our students and undertake all the jobs needed to run a small farm. Volunteers must provide their own Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate which states Child and Adult Workforce. If a volunteer does nmot have a current valid DBS of the correct type, we can apply for this for them but their is an administration charge of £10.
Prior to starting as a volunteer, an interview is arranged with the Farm Manager, Wendy Self, where volunteers will be asked to complete a volunteer agreement form - copy below. Two references are also required; one professional and one personal, in addition to the DBS certificate. All documentation needs to be in place prior to any volunteer starting at the farm.
All volunteers are given a thorough induction so they understand their role and how it fits in with the farm's ethos. Please click on the button below for more information.
We are always looking for volunteers to help with the following:
Adult volunteers at Saturday Farm Club
Our RDA group;
Our vegetable beds & garden;
General maintenance - painting, fencing, general repairs etc.
If you have a couple of hours spare a week we would love to hear from you. Please use our contact form.
