We provide half day and full day therapeutic work sessions in Animal Care for students in Primary and Secondary Education from Monday - Friday, during term time, throughout the academic year. We also offer half day and full day sessions for adult students with additional needs, in Supported Living, all year round. Prices depend on need and the level of support required. The full work day session is from 9.30am - 3.30pm; half day sessions are from 9.30am - 12pm/12.30pm or 1.15pm - 3.30pm.
An initial assessment interview is carried out prior to the start of the placement to ensure we provide a unique learning experience, tailored to the individual's needs. Every client is monitored at regular intervals to ensure learning outcomes are being met and we attend LEA/WCC reviews.
Students also have the opportunity to take part in the ASDAN Towards Independence Programme or the Animal Care Short Course via our RDA group if they wish. An additional cost applies.
We also accept a limited number of students on Work Experience from school 6th forms or Further Education Colleges, as part of their curriculum. We prioritise those intending to work within the care sector and students with additional needs. Whilst animal care is an integral part of our work, as a Care Farm, our focus is on the benefits of working with animals to assist those with additional needs boost their confidence and develop social and emotional skills. A Work Experience placement charge applies to cover administration costs.
