RIDING FOR THE DISABLED
Wendy set up our highly successful Larkrise RDA Group in 2012.
Our friendly, highly trained team of staff and volunteers help children and adults with special needs enjoy the multi-sensory experiences of horse-riding.
We offer 30 minute lessons to individuals, as well as to local Special Schools.
An initial assessment of the rider is carried out prior to lessons taking place.

I Saw a Child
I saw a child who couldn't walk,
sit on a horse, laugh and talk.
Then ride it through a field of daisies
and yet he could not walk unaided.
I saw a child no legs below,
sit on a horse, and make it go
through wood of green and places he had
never been to sit and stare, except from a chair.
I saw a child who could only crawl,
mount a horse and sit up tall;
Then put it through degrees of paces
and laugh at the wonder in our faces.
I saw a child born into strife,
take up and hold the reins of life,
and that same child, was heard to say,
Thank God for showing me the way.....

Merger with Hampsley Hollow and Lacock RDA, September 2018
In September 2018 we finalised our merger with another RDA group formerly known as Hampsley Hollow and Lacock RDA.
Our new group is called Larkrise/ Hampsley RDA Group.
We are delighted to welcome the Trustees, coaches and riders from Hampsley and Lacock to Larkrise RDA and look forward to working together for many years to come.
As well as welcoming the people, we are also really pleased to add piebald cobs, Merlin and Tommy to our equine section, to cope with the increased number of adult riders.
